Votes counted for Youth Assembly
Youth Parliament
The assembly will be represented in the UK Youth Parliament
The votes are being counted in the Youth Assembly elections held in Essex.

More than 20,000 young people have voted across the county.

The assembly, for 13 to 19-year-olds, will give teenagers a voice on local and national issues.

Its creation follows the success of the UK Youth Parliament.

Seventy-nine representatives are being elected from the 12 district in Essex.

Essex County Council has been working with the district councils to create the assembly.

The final results of the ballot will be announced on Monday.

The assembly will also send representatives to the UK Youth Parliament.
