Police cordoned off the property after the incident
A Shropshire man has been charged with the attempted murder of his wife.

The attack is alleged to have taken place at a house on Mercia Drive in Leegomery, just after 2300 GMT on Wednesday night.

The victim was taken to Telford's Princess Royal Hospital for treatment for head injuries.

Her condition is now said to be comfortable.

Their house was sealed off on Thursday while forensic experts searched for evidence.

Her husband, who was arrested shortly after the attack, was questioned and then charged with attempted murder on Friday.
