Husband jailed for wife's death
David Clive Richards
Police said Richards had a personality disorder
A 35-year-old Staffordshire man has been jailed for five years for killing his wife.

Karen Richards was found with extensive fatal head injuries at an address in Leek in August.

Her husband David Clive Richards appeared at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday.

Richards, of Morley Street, Leek, denied murder, but admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility.

Detective Inspector Roger Dutton, who led the inquiry, said: "A thorough police investigation was carried out and we accept this outcome which followed expert evidence that Richards had a personality disorder.

"Our deepest sympathies remain with Karen's family."
