Former top jump jockey Declan Murphy has been robbed at gunpoint in an attempted car-jacking.
Mr Murphy, 36, was forced to hand over his Cartier watch, wallet and laptop computer after two men targeted him while he sat alone in waiting traffic in Paddington Street, Marylebone, west London, around 1630 GMT on Wednesday.
The robbers pulled the Irishman out of his BMW and tried to steal it, but gave up after failing to get past the vehicle's extra security features.
The former leading National Hunt rider said he was too distressed to talk about the incident.
Two years ago, knife-wielding raiders attacked Mr Murphy at his home in
Newmarket, Suffolk, tying him up and ransacking the house.
In the latest attack, he was approached in broad daylight by two men who pointed a gun at him and pulled him from his car but there was no injuries, Scotland Yard said.
Mr Murphy retired from racing nine years ago, shortly after being badly injured in a fall at Haydock.
