Paperboy hurt in road accident
A paperboy is in hospital with serious head injuries following a road accident.

It happened at about 1800 GMT on Thursday in Warstones Road, near to the junctions of Hilston Avenue and Springfield Lane, in the Penn area of Wolverhampton.

Police say the 14-year-old was delivering papers and, as he crossed the road, he was hit by a red Ford Mondeo car travelling from the direction of Lloyd Hill.

The boy, who lives in Warstones, was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital, where he is in a serious condition in the intensive therapy unit.

The driver of the car, a 34-year-old man from Penn, was uninjured but was taken to hospital suffering from shock.

West Midlands Police are urging any motorists or pedestrians who witnessed the accident to contact them.
