The school paid tribute to 'a quiet and sociable girl'

Schoolchildren are being offered counselling after a 15-year-old north Wales girl was found hanged.

Sarah Angharad Jones was found on Wednesday morning at the home she shared with her parents and brother in Rhos-on-Sea.

Police officers and ambulance crews were called to the scene.

She was a pupil at Eirias High School, Colwyn Bay.

Elwyn Williams, Conwy council's director of lifelong learning said: "We are aware of this tragic incident and our sympathy goes to family and friends.

"We have arranged for counselling to be available for any pupils or teachers who require support at this difficult time."

In a statement the school said: "The school has been devastated to receive the news of the sudden death at home of one of our pupils.

"Sarah was a quiet, sociable girl with a sensible and mature attitude to her work.

"Our heartfelt sympathy and condolences are with her family and close friends."
