Study into plane noise
plane landing at East Midlands Airport
The airport has applied to the Civil Aviation Authority
A study has been commissioned into the potential noise levels of a new flight path over Leicestershire.

Villages including Walton on the Wolds, Rearsby and Tilton on the Hill would be affected.

Nottingham East Midlands Airport has applied to use the flight path over the Harborough area.

People living under the proposed route have already formed an action group because of concerns about the possible increase in noise.

Harborough District Council has now commissioned a firm of aviation experts to research the likely impact.

It is also liaising with parish councils and representatives of the action group.

A meeting between council and airport officials has been arranged for early February.
