Dog driver in milk float drama
The milk float after it collided with the lamppost
The milkman was dragged along by the float
A milkman was injured after his dog "drove" his float away, dragging him with it.

The 75-year-old had stopped to feed the dog which was on board the vehicle in Meols, Wirral.

But the animal's paw slipped and it inadvertently hit the float's accelerator, pulling his owner along before crashing into a lamp post.

The ambulance service said the pensioner suffered a minor knee injury.

The accident happened at Derment Road at about 0950 GMT.

The float ended up blocking the road, causing disruption to traffic in the area for some time.

The dog was taken to a local vet's practice for a check-up but is expected to make a full recovery.

It is not thought to be facing any penalty points on its dog licence.
