Two people arrested by detectives investigating the drive-by shooting of a bodybuilder outside a Hertfordshire gym have been released on bail.

David King, 32, a father of four from Stevenage, was shot with an automatic weapon outside a health and fitness centre in Hoddesdon on 3 October last year.

Two people were arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

On Friday Hertfordshire Police said the men had been bailed pending further inquiries until mid-April.

Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Janet Molloy said: "This remains a complex, long-term inquiry with a number of major lines of inquiry.

"The case is progressing well but I would urge anyone who has not yet come forward to do so immediately.

"All calls will be handled discreetly by my team."
