Indian police say they have arrested a suspected Kashmiri militant, who they say was planning an attack to coincide with celebrations on Monday to mark Republic Day in India.
A police commissioner, Karnal Singh, was quoted as saying the man was carrying several kilograms of explosives when he was apprehended in Delhi on Friday.
The suspect was reported to be a member of Hizb-e-Islami, a militant group fighting Indian rule in Kashmir.
