The Derby-born journalist Terry Lloyd, who was killed in the war in Iraq, has been awarded a posthumous tribute.
The ITN reporter received an honorary degree from the University of Derby.
Mr Lloyd began his journalistic career at a Derby-based news agency.
He later became one of ITN's longest serving correspondents, but was killed last year in a "friendly fire" incident in Iraq.
Mr Lloyd's 21-year-old daughter, Chelsey, received the honour on his behalf on Friday.

His widow, Lynn, and son Oliver, 11, were also at the ceremony.
The university's Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Jennifer Fry, said: "As
one of the longest-serving national television correspondents, Terry Lloyd
earned many plaudits for his work at ITN.
"A truth-seeker and teller, he represented the highest standards in
journalism and his tragic death in March last year was a loss mourned by
many."
Others to receive a degree include the comedian Tim Brooke-Taylor and the chief executive of Royal Crown Derby, Hugh Gibson.
