Hanson jailing ruled fair
Pauline Hanson
Pauline Hanson was released from jail in November
An independent inquiry has cleared authorities and lawmakers of misconduct in the jailing of Australian right-wing politician Pauline Hanson.

Critics had argued the case was politically motivated.

Ms Hanson was released from jail in November after her election fraud conviction was quashed.

Reacting to Friday's inquiry report, the founder of the One Nation party repeated her belief that she was unfairly treated.

Ms Hanson had been found guilty of fraudulently registering her One Nation party in the Australian state of Queensland.

Prosecutors said that she had used the names of supporters as genuine members of her party in order to qualify for $300,000 in electoral funding.

She and party co-founder David Ettridge each spent 78 nights in jail.
