Investigations are under way into the cause of the accident
An ambulance answering a 999 call overturned on the A64 dual carriageway near York late on Thursday night.

The Tees East and North Yorkshire Ambulance Service say the vehicle, which is based at Bramham, near Tadcaster, was on the road at 2200 GMT.

The vehicle overturned on the eastbound carriageway of the main road near the Aagrah restaurant.

No patients were on board the ambulance and although the crew were shaken they were unhurt.

The ambulance service said no members of the public or other vehicles were involved in the incident.

North Yorkshire Police and the ambulance service are carrying out investigations into the cause of the accident.
