Elderly woman attacked in robbery
An elderly woman has been attacked during an armed robbery at her home in Londonderry.

The incident happened at the 73-year-old's home at Bishop Street in the city at about 1230 GMT on Thursday.

A man forced the kitchen window open with a knife to gain entry to the house.

When the woman saw him she sounded a personal attack alarm.

The robber searched the house for money and knocked the lady to the ground before leaving empty-handed.

The woman sustained a small cut to her head and was left very shaken by the attack.

The man is described as being in his late teens, of thin build and had missing teeth.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the attack to contact them.
