Machete gang beats man
A man faces having plastic surgery after a gang burst in to his home and beat him with an axe and machete.

The 31-year-old was asleep on his sofa when the three men broke into the house on Tuesday.

He was severely beaten by the men during the attack at the house in Woodhouse Park, Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police said the gang is also believed to have used a large rock during the attack at the house in Robinsbay Road.

'Terrible injuries'

The victim suffered cuts to his head, serious hand injuries and bruising to his body during the attack.

He was later treated at Wythenshawe hospital where he received stitches to his head, and was later released.

He is due to return to the hospital for the plastic surgery to his hands.

"The victim has suffered some terrible injuries as a result of this assault," said a police spokesperson.

"We are keen to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area of Robinsbay Road on Tuesday evening to get in touch."

Witnesses who saw the break-in or have information should contact CID at Hall Lane police station or ring Crimestoppers.
