If things weren't bad enough for the Ministry of Defence, they faced a raft of new criticisms about their management of the British effort in Iraq. But is it fair to blame Geoff Hoon or was it just the chaos of combat?

Tuition fees

It's the Liberal Democrats turn to defend their policies on tuition fees. Their Education spokesman, Phil Willis explained how he could afford to scrap tuition fees altogether. And, as the Cabinet meet for the last time before next week's crucial vote, we asked if the Labour rebellion was holding up.

East West gap

The former Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr George Carey and the Saudi ambassador to the UK asked whether the gap between East and West can be bridged.
