Breakfast at Kew
Kew Gardens' Titan Arum in bloom
Kew Gardens' Titan Arum in bloom
It may only be January, but the experts are warning that spring is coming and this year will be earlier than ever.

So Breakfast has used the excuse to return to Kew Gardens for a special half hour programme.

We'll have a host of guests and features for you (see below) and the programme will be presented by Nicki Chapman.

  • Breakfast will be live from Kew starting at 0900 GMT until 0930 GMT

Just over one million visitors pass through Kew's gates each year to spend time strolling around the Gardens' three hundred acres.

Kew is best known for its magnificent glasshouses, but even if you have a garden the size of a postage stamp, there's plenty to satisfy everyone from the keen horticulturalist right down to the window-box amateur.

  • Here's our line up of guests for Friday:

  • Contemporary gardener Diarmuid Gavin will be exploring the different climates inside the Princess of Wales Conservatory which has ten different climates.

  • Then we'll be hearing from Nigel Taylor, Kew's head of horticulture who will be talking about climate change.

  • Terry Nutkins - wildlife expert - will be telling us about what we can do for animals, birds and insects in our gardens.

  • Just before 0915, gardener Pippa Greenwood will be looking at what jobs we should all be doing to maintain our gardens over the winter months.

  • Chris Beardshaw's used to travelling around the country by helicopter in his role as the Flying Gardener and will be sharing some of his gardening knowledge.
