The stolen money was returned to the taxi company in an envelope

A bag of cash stolen from a cab in Sittingbourne, Kent, on Sunday has been handed in by the thieves to the taxi firm's office, complete with a bonus.
Police officers investigating the theft were able to close the case on Wednesday after a man walked into the office and handed over an envelope containing £250 in cash.
The offenders felt so guilty that they added an extra £50 to the sum they had stolen, which will now be given to a local charity.
The envelope also contained a written apology from "The Drunken Prats".
It read: "Whatever came over us was very out of character.
"However, in a drunken idiotic moment of stupidity we decided to take the bag.
"Reflecting on it now, we can't get over the guilt of taking hard-earned money.
"We cannot apologise enough and deeply regret the upset we must have caused to your driver and yourselves.
"Although only an apology is nowhere near enough, the driver deserves for this act, we can only hope a full refund, plus £50, will cover the inconvenience.
"Sorry, Yours Regretfully, The Drunken Prats."
White Cabs proprietor, Tony Stannard, said: "We have had money go missing before, but it has never turned up again and plus to be received with a bonus on top, we were totally surprised - over the moon.
"At first we wondered if it was some sort of prank.
"We didn't realise there were these types of people in Sittingbourne that would give the money back.
"So there are people with a conscience at the end of the day."
