Three face Boxing Day murder charge

Three men have been charged with the murder of a man who died after being found injured outside a nightclub.

Raymond Duncan, 27, from the Mastrick area of Aberdeen, died in hospital after being discovered in the city's Union Street early on Boxing Day.

Martyn Cowie Anderson, 39, Martyn Raymond Anderson, 18, and John Reilly, 18, all from Aberdeen, appeared at the city's sheriff court on Saturday.

They made no plea or declaration to the charge and were remanded in custody.

The court was open on Saturday for a dedicated festive-period custody sitting.

The three men appeared in private before Sheriff James Tierney.

Refused bail

Fiscal depute Anne Macdonald said: "Three people appeared in private at Aberdeen Sheriff Court in connection with a charge of murder.

"They each made no plea or declaration, each applied for bail and was refused bail."

Mr Duncan was found seriously injured on Union Street near the Cotton Club at 0025 GMT on Friday.

He was taken to hospital, but died a short time later.
