Pharmacists are being asked to check prescriptions
Pharmacists in Cambridgeshire have been alerted after the theft of a doctor's bag containing a blank prescription pad.

The bag, which also held a small quantity of drugs, was stolen on the morning of 24 December from a car parked outside a house in Peterborough.

Police said the drugs consisted of a small quantity of the tranquiliser diazepam and the painkiller morphine.

Witnesses reported seeing a fair-haired man breaking into the car and then making off with the doctor's bag on a yellow mountain bike.

Pharmacists have been asked by police and Peterborough Primary Care Trust to be extra vigilant in checking the authenticity of prescriptions.

Anyone finding the bag, drugs or prescription pad is asked to hand them in to their nearest police station - and anyone with further information is asked to ring Cambridgeshire Police or Crimestoppers.
