Murder charge in alleyway assault
A man has been charged in connection with the murder of a woman found in an alleyway in Ipswich.

Darren Brown, 21, of Alderman Road, Ipswich, appeared before South East Suffolk magistrates on Thursday.

Cara Martin Brown, 25, of Hawthorn Drive, was found seriously injured in an alleyway off Alderman Road - near Ipswich Town's Portman Road football ground - at about 0120 GMT on Tuesday.

She died in hospital, and a post-mortem examination revealed her death had been caused by head injuries.

Mr Brown has been remanded in custody until 6 January.

Police said they would still like to hear from anyone who was in the Alderman Road neighbourhood in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
