Wrong cancer diagnosis damages
Bronglais hospital
The initial diagnosis was given at Bronglais hospital in Aberystwyth
A 57-year-old woman who was wrongly diagnosed with breast cancer has accepted a £10,000 settlement for damages.

Teresa Hughes, formerly of Llanegryn, near Tywyn, underwent a partial mastectomy following the diagnosis at Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth.

But a week later, she was told she was not suffering from the disease.

Ms Hughes says she was left traumatised by the experience.

She has urged other women to seek a second opinion before agreeing to breast surgery.

Ms Hughes sued the Ceredigion and Mid-Wales NHS Trust and the claim was settled out of court.
