Arsonists 'used car to ram club'
Deja Vu nightclub, Swanley
Police said damage was contained to the rear of the building
Arsonists used a car to ram their way into a nightclub, according to police.

The suspects set light to the Deja Vu Club in Swanley while the assistant manager was upstairs.

A Kent Police spokesman said the man was lucky to escape with his life.

The fire broke out in the London Road venue at about 0330 GMT and the building had to be evacuated.

Six fire crews were called to the three-storey building to tackle the fire, which took more than three hours to extinguish.

A Kent Police spokeswoman said the damage appeared to have been contained to the rear of the building but the extent of smoke damage was not yet known.

No-one was injured in the fire.

Anyone with any information about the incident is urged to contact Kent Police.
