A 22-year-old woman has described the terrifying moment when two armed robbers burst into her family's home and attacked her, her sister and parents.

Michelle Tsang relived her hostage ordeal to help detectives jog the memory of the public as they try to catch the men who struck at the home of her businessman father after the family returned home on Saturday 6 December.

She said: "We were all forced into the living room. We were all handcuffed behind our backs.

"All I remember the robbers saying is 'where's the money, where's the safe?'."

Michelle and her sister Lisa, had just arrived back at the home in Ridgeway Road in the Rumney area of Cardiff, with their parents, businessman Hinkwun Tsang, and his wife, Wong Que.

Lisa answered a knock at the door. As she opened it, the men barged in brandishing handguns.

Michelle said "I just ran downstairs, I was shocked to see these two men in our house - I knew something was wrong. I started to get frightened."

The robbers forced the family onto the floor, handcuffed them and demanded money.

Michelle said: "At that point we were fearing for our lives. We were really scared but were trying to co-operate with them. I was trying to do what they were saying.

"We didn't have much cash or valuables in the house which they could take. I pointed to my mother's handbag and they seemed to be happy with that."

The men escaped with £3,500 in cash.

Michelle said: "We were petrified. It was a nightmare really. As soon as they went, we went outside and called our neighbours. I was in shock, Mum and Dad were deeply traumatised by it.

"Mum doesn't go out of the house now, I'm afraid to answer the door, we've tried to forget about it as much as we can, but we can't until they are caught."

South Wales Police detectives are continuing house-to-house inquiries in the area.

Detective Inspector Debbie Cooper, said: "It was an absolutely terrifying and vile attack on a family within the privacy of their own home."

Officers are searching for two men and a dark car with a spoiler which was seen near the house at the time of the raid.

The first man is described as being around six feet tall, aged in his late 40s to early 50s, of stocky build with greying hair and a pointy nose.

The second attacker was younger, aged in his 20s or 30s, and was wearing a baseball cap and a dark blue tracksuit top. He had a round face with dark hair and was said to be overweight.
