Two held after jewellery robbery
A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with a jewellery robbery in Birmingham.

The pair were held at the scene of a car crash in which a pedestrian was injured.

The robbery happened just after 1400 GMT on Tuesday on Oak Tree Lane in Selly Oak.

Police pursued a silver BMW seen being driven away from the scene to Calthorpe Road in Edgbaston, where a collision took place involving the BMW, a police patrol car and a pedestrian.

West Midlands Police said the injured man was thought to be in his 60s and suffered leg and head injuries.

He is being treated in Birmingham's City Hospital.

Two people arrested at the scene of the crash were still in custody on Wednesday morning.

No jewellery has been recovered.
