Electrical fault disrupts Tube
Services on four Tube lines were disrupted on Tuesday because of an electrical fault.

London Underground (LU) said emergency work was carried out to repair the problem, which was discovered on the Metropolitan line at 0500 GMT.

This meant some services were suspended for three hours from 1230 GMT.

The work in the Euston area triggered knock-on problems on parts of the Hammersmith & City, Circle and District lines.

Fault repaired

An LU spokeswoman said: "During the morning we took the decision to do the work rather than leave the work to be done overnight.

"It is not something that happens every day."

She said the fault had been repaired and rush hour services should operate normally.

Earlier on Tuesday, shut downs were imposed on the Metropolitan line between Baker Street and Aldgate, the Hammersmith & City line between Edgware Road and Whitechapel and the Circle line between Baker Street and Liverpool Street.
