A youth who violently pushed a 92-year-old woman to the ground before robbing her has been jailed for six years.
Mark Conway, 21, of no fixed address, forced his way into Florence Brown's home in Cavendish Road in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, in August 2003.
He knocked her over and sliced through her telephone line with a knife to prevent her from calling the police.
Conway then made a thorough search of her house before stealing a wallet, her pension book and £300.
Derby Crown Court heard that he was only caught when one of his friends heard him bragging about the robbery and was so disgusted that he called police.
Conway admitted to two burglaries, one robbery and one count of criminal damage.
He also asked the court to take eight other burglaries into consideration.
