Dutch arrest for murder police

A man has been arrested in Amsterdam in connection with the deaths of two men in York.

North Yorkshire Police said on Tuesday that a 42-year-old man was being held by Dutch police on suspicion of murder.

Extradition proceedings will begin as soon as possible.

The bodies of Kevin Mulgrew, 38, and Daniel Wall, 27, were found in a flat at 74A Gillygate on 4 December.

A post-mortem examination found they had been severely beaten.

The families of Mr Mulgrew and Mr Wall have been informed of the arrest.
