Man charged after house fire rescue

A man has been charged with neglect after two children were rescued by firefighters from a house fire.

Thomas Makuvatsine, 31, was arrested after the fire at a house in the Haymill area of Slough, Berkshire, on Monday.

Emergency services were called by neighbours after smoke was spotted coming from the house.

A boy aged five and girl aged two were taken to Wexham Park Hospital in Slough for treatment.

Mr Makuvatsine was charged with child neglect and bailed to appear at East Berkshire Magistrates' Court in Bracknell on 5 January.
