Inquiry starts into shredder accident

Safety checks were being carried out on machinery
Investigators have returned to a Norfolk paper recycling company to try and discover how a man was killed in a shredder.

Norfolk Police and officers from the Health and Safety Executive are investigating the death of a 36-year-old Norwich man.

The man died at MW White Waste Paper in Station Lane, Ketteringham, on Monday after being caught in a paper shredding machine.

The accident happened at about 0930 GMT at the firm which supplies animal bedding.

Safety checks were being carried out on machinery on Tuesday to discover how the accident happened.

A spokesman from the police said the incident was not being treated as suspicious.

Officers have not yet named the victim as no formal identification has taken place.
