A man has been arrested following a house fire near Grays on Monday night.
The fire took place at a house in Fox Glove Road in South Ockendon.
A baby from the house was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure, after fears the child may have suffered smoke inhalation.
The man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
