Mugger beats woman on driveway
Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a woman was beaten up and robbed in the driveway of her home.

The woman, in her 50s, suffered bruising and shock after the man punched her in the arm and head and grabbed her black leather handbag.

Police want to speak to anyone with information on the attack at 1745 GMT on Monday in Braidley Road, Bournemouth.

Detective Constable Sarah Denning said: "This is quite an unusual robbery in that the victim was assaulted in her own driveway, and it is very important we find this man.

"He stole a black leather DKNY handbag containing a mobile phone, money cards and other personal items, and apart from the value the loss has caused considerable inconvenience for the victim, particularly at this time of year."

The robber was 20 to 30 years old, of slim build and 5ft 10 ins.

His victim describes him as respectable looking.
