Police are appealing for information after 1,000 packets of cigarettes were stolen from a shop.
Thieves broke in to a newsagent's store in Weston-super-Mare during the night of 20 to 21 December and made off with the £6,500 haul.
Officers investigating the burglary say there is a chance the culprits may try to sell off the stolen cigarettes at pubs and other venues in the town.
They are asking people to be on the lookout for anyone offering cut-price Benson and Hedges, Lambert and Butler and Embassy-brand cigarettes.
Anyone who is offered them, or who has information is asked to contact Avon and Somerset Police.
