DVD players for recycling winners
Recycling survey winners
Winners were chosen at random from thousands of respondents
Three people who helped in a Berkshire council recycling drive have been awarded with DVD players and gift vouchers.

Bracknell Forest Borough Council sent 22,000 households a questionnaire to find out more about their recycling habits, ahead of a change in European law on recycling electrical goods.

The three entrants were picked at random from those who responded.

First prize winner Norman Rider, from Binfield, was presented with a Panasonic DVD player, Sarah Balaam, from Little Sandhurst, received a Fujitsu Siemens DVD player for use with a computer and Joan Dawson, from Matins Heron, collected £50 worth of gift vouchers.

The borough council is working with local electrical companies to improve recycling of old electrical goods at the Longshot Lane tip.

New legislation is expected to come into force next year putting responsibility for recycling onto manufacturers.

Councillor Terry Mills said: "By working with local businesses we hope to find solutions to the requirements for recycling waste electrical goods."
