The birds have been returned to their loft
A flock of prize winning racing pigeons which were stolen during a burglary have been returned to their owner.

The birds, which are worth an estimated £3,000, were taken from a field in Knossington in early December.

Police recovered the pigeons after a member of the public spotted a vehicle parked suspiciously in the area at the time they disappeared.

A 21-year-old woman has since been arrested and cautioned.

PC Jim Goodacre from Melton Police said: "We are delighted that the majority of the pigeons have been recovered.

"We would like to thank everyone who assisted with the investigation which resulted in the pigeons being reunited with their owner."
