Missing pensioner found dead

An 81-year-old man who went missing from his Greater Manchester home, has been found dead.

James Ratcliffe left his home in Middleton in the early hours of Monday.

He was last seen by his granddaughter on Brookside Crescent, wearing only his pyjamas.

Mr Ratcliffe's body was found at the back of Mainway East in Middleton at 1050 GMT on Monday.

Greater Manchester Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.
