An investigation is under way after the death of a 31-year-old pedestrian in a crash in Hastings.
A red Vauxhall Nova travelling west on Monday night was the first vehicle to hit the pedestrian, police said.
A spokesman said the man was then hit by a white Suzuki van.
The pedestrian, who was from the Hastings area, suffered fatal injuries.
The drivers of the Nova and the van, aged 18 and 50, and both from Hastings, were uninjured.
Anyone who witnessed the incident on the A259 near White Rock is urged to contact Sussex Police.
