Man dies after M25 crash
An elderly man has died in hospital overnight after a road crash on the M25 on Monday night.

The man, who is believed to be in his 70s, was in a Ford people carrier which hit a stationary lorry on the hard shoulder at the Wisley exit, at Junction 10.

The driver was taken to Epsom District Hospital, but later died.

Surrey Police said that officers had stopped the heavy goods vehicle a short time before the accident, just before midnight.

The road was closed while the vehicles were recovered and an accident investigation took place.

A post mortem was due to be carried out on Tuesday.

Police said that the man had not yet been identified.
