Woman critical after assault
A woman is in a critical condition after being assaulted and left unconscious in an alleyway in Ipswich.

The 25-year-old was found by police in the alleyway off Alderman Road by the football ground.

Officers were sent to the scene at 0120 GMT on Tuesday, after being alerted by a member of the public.

The woman is being treated in Ipswich Hospital.

A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Suffolk Police say they would like to hear from anyone who was in the Alderman Road area in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
