Jogger attack witnesses sought
Puma jogging top
Police hope the clothing will help prompt people's memories
Images of the clothing worn by a woman who was repeatedly stabbed while jogging in a north London park have been released by police.

The 39-year-old woman was attacked by a man in Clissold Park, Stoke Newington.

Detectives hope the images of clothing will help trace eight more witnesses.

The incident has been linked to the murder of 27-year-old American artist Margaret Muller in nearby Victoria Park in Tower Hamlets in February.

Eight people known to have been in the park when the jogger was stabbed at 1700 GMT on 5 December have yet to come forward.

Police particularly want to trace two schoolgirls seen in the park with a video camera on 4 and 5 December.

Hooded top and rucksack

Detective Chief Superintendant Jon Shatford, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are also convinced that the attacker had been loitering in the park on the days leading up to the attack and are sure that someone must have seen him."

The attacker is described as white, in his teens or early 20s, slim with "teenage facial hair" and angular features.

He wore a hooded top and had a rucksack .

Earlier this month a 24-year-old man and a 15-year-old youth were arrested in connection with the attempted murder of the 39-year-old woman and the murder of Ms Muller.

Both were bailed to return to separate north London police stations on 12 January 2004.
