Man charged with father's murder

A teenager has been charged with murdering his father after a man was found dead at a house in north Kent.

Luke Onyett, 19, was arrested after police were called to an address in Cobham Street, Gravesend, at 2030 GMT on Monday.

Officers found the body of 49-year-old Michael Onyett, of Cross Lane, Gravesend.

A post-mortem examination revealed he had died of multiple stab wounds, Kent Police said.

Luke Onyett, of Oak Road, Gravesend, who is unemployed, is expected to appear before magistrates in Chatham on Boxing Day.

He has been charged with the murder of his father, a Kent Police spokeswoman said.

A 47-year-old man was released earlier on Wednesday on police bail, pending further inquiries.
