Missing teenager urged to call
Sophia Dacosta-Reece
Sophia sometimes goes by the name Naomi
The mother of a missing teenager has appealed for her daughter to get in contact for Christmas and let everyone know she is safe.

Caroline Diamond said it would be the best Christmas present ever if she could hear her daughter's voice once again and know Sophia Dacosta-Reece is alive and well.

Sophia was 15 years old when she went missing from the Rectory Farm area of Northampton on 12 November this year.

She had been staying with foster carers.

The teenager has gone missing before, but has always been found within a few days.

'Just one call'

This time police fear Sophia may have become a victim of prostitution and could possibly be in the Birmingham area.

Mrs Diamond, 40, of Stanion, near Corby, said on Monday: "I just want to know that Sophia is OK.

"I am appealing to her to contact me or any other members of the family to let us know she is safe and well.

"She may not want to come home, but all I am asking for is just one phone call from her or anyone who knows where she is, to put my mind at rest".

She added that Sophia's 20-year-old sister Jade was also longing to hear from her.

"Sophia has been known to tell people she is 19 and sometimes use a different name, including Naomi," said Mrs Diamond.

"Whoever she is with may not be aware that she is as young as 15."

Detective Inspector Allan Law, from Northampton CID, added: "She is only 15 and I am fearful she has fallen victim to those unscrupulous people who prey on young girls and force them into prostitution".
