Sons' appeal over missing father
Mr Wilson has been missing for more than a month
The three sons of an elderly man who went missing more than a month ago have made an appeal for the public's help.

Leonard Wilson, 81, left his home in Hackenthorpe, Sheffield, on November 12.

His sons - Geoff, 53, Peter, 49, and Graham, 43 - now fear the worst but have asked people to check their garden sheds in case their father took shelter there.

Geoff said: "To be honest we are not that hopeful but you cling to a small hope that he has been taken in by somebody.

Expect the worst

"But in all honesty we do not expect the next news we hear to be good news."

Detective Chief Inspector Dick Goulding, of South Yorkshire Police, who is leading the inquiry, urged people in the Intake, Beighton and Swallownest areas of south Sheffield to check gardens and outbuildings for any signs of Mr Wilson.

And he urged anyone who was out walking over the Christmas period to look out for anything which may help the police trace Mr Wilson.

Mr Wilson is described as slim, 5' 8", silver haired with a local accent and a tattoo on one of his arms.
