Pensioner denies attempted murder
A County Tyrone pensioner has been remanded in custody charged with attempted murder.

John McKune, 65, from Windsor Terrace, Coagh, is accused of attempting to murder his neighbour on Saturday.

A detective constable told Enniskillien Court on Monday that when charged, the accused said: "I had no intention to murder anybody. I only took the knife up because I knew he had one."

The detective constable told the court he believed he could connect Mr McKune with the charge.

The accused was remanded in custody to appear before the court by video link on 14 January.
