Three-month old baby Isobel is being looked after by foster parents
The mother of a baby abandoned in public toilets in Worcestershire has been found, police have confirmed.

Baby Isobel was found in a black holdall in the toilets at the Rowland Hill shopping centre in Kidderminster, Worcestershire on 10 October.

She has been in the care of Worcestershire Social Services ever since and was due to be put up for adoption.

West Mercia Police said Isobel's mother had been found as a result of information from the public.

A spokesman said officers were preparing a file to give to the Crown Prosecution Service so a decision can be made on whether to take any action.

The spokesman said meanwhile social services were liaising with the mother and police regarding the future of the child.

Nationwide appeals on television and radio were issued in an attempt to find the baby's mother and a special phone line was even set up.

The three-month old baby is being looked after by foster parents.
