Police hunt sex attacker
Police are looking for a man who carried out a sex attack on woman after forcing her into an alley in Newtown.

The incident took place during the early hours of Saturday.

The 34-year-old woman was walking along the Wesley Street area of the town at around 0100GMT when she was approached by a man, said a Dyfed-Powys Police spokesman.

The man engaged the woman in conversation before forcing her down an alley that runs off Wesley Street at the back of the Argos store and the town's Methodist church.

Round face

Once in the alley way the man carried out the assault, say police.

They have issued a description of the man they are looking.

He is said to be in his mid 30s, about five foot three inches tall, is described as having a round face, with short, swept back dark hair.

He was wearing a black T-shirt and light blue jeans.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the CID at Newtown Police Station on (01686) 625704.
