Accident boy's amazing recovery
An 11-year-old boy who suffered serious head injuries in a road accident has staged a remarkable recovery in time for Christmas.

Jordan Briggs, of Cardwell Avenue, Stradbroke, Sheffield, was taken to the city's children's hospital after being hit by a Renault Clio car as he crossed Stradbroke Road shortly before 1800 GMT on Friday.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "He did suffer serious head injuries and it was looking pretty bad on Friday.

"But he's now up and about in hospital, walking and talking and driving the nurses mad.

"It's quite a remarkable recovery and a great Christmas present for his family."

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident which happened 200 metres on the Gleadless side of Stradbroke Road's junction with Stradbroke Drive.
