Car park murder jury dismissed
Cowley police station
Yvonne Heap was stabbed 12 times
The jury in the trial of a man accused of stabbing his estranged partner to death in a police station car park has failed to reach a verdict.

Nahed Akhter, 40, denies murdering Yvonne Heap, the mother of his three children, outside Cowley Police Station in Oxford.

Ms Heap died on 28 April, two days after suffering 12 stab wounds to the head, face, neck, chest, hands and legs.

On Tuesday, the jury in the Oxford Crown Court trial was dismissed after eight-and-a-half hours of deliberation.

The case was adjourned until 28 November after the jury failed to return a verdict.

Mr Akhter, of Sunnyside Close, Cowley, was remanded in custody.
