Cash boost for anti-crime plan
A scheme aimed at reducing the fear of crime experienced by elderly people has been awarded a £22,000 cash boost.

The Elder Aware Partnership Project in Bath & North East Somerset launches on Tuesday with £10,000 from the Government Office of the South West, £9,000 from the council and £3,000 from police.

It aims to reduce older people's fear of crime; give practical crime reduction advice and make older people aware of the services available to support them.

Inge Shepherd, from the council said: "This is about giving older people the confidence not to let fear of crime dominate their lives. We are proud of our part in this worthwhile project."

A free crime busters pack will be given to everyone who attends Tuesday's launch.
