Bogus paramedic admits assault
A Leicestershire man who posed as a paramedic could be jailed after he admitted assaulting a woman.

Leicester Crown Court heard Gary Brooks, from Manor Drive, Loughborough targeted his victim when she came out of the Barracude Bar feeling unwell.

Brooks, 30, attended the victim after reversing his jacket to reveal the words 'Emergency medical technician.'

Earlier in the year a jury failed to reach a verdict after Brooks denied a charge of indecent assault.

He told Leicester Crown Court he was not able to become a real paramedic because he could not read and write.

On Monday he pleaded guilty to common assault and will be sentenced at a later date.

Releasing him on bail, Judge Peter Morrell, said his conduct was 'unwise' and that it was too early to say what sentence he would receive.
